Dressage Test – Part 1
13 August 2026
Stadium 2 at the Allianz Park
Details
- The rider/horse combinations are nominated by the nations.
- The rider/horse combinations must qualify according to specific FEI criteria.
- Each nation may enter up to five rider/horse combinations in Eventing.
- A team consists of three to four riders, each with one horse. The fifth rider competes as an individual.
- A nation that is unable to send a team may enter a maximum of two individual riders, each with one horse.
Dressage Test
- As the first phase of the competition, each rider completes the Dressage test (Dressage Test: Olympic Short Test).
- From the scores of the three judges, an average score is calculated and displayed to the audience as a percentage out of 100, reflecting the quality of the performance. In addition—unlike in the specialist discipline of Dressage—this result is then converted into penalty points, which are later added to the penalty points from the Show Jumping and Cross-Country phases for the overall classification.
- The penalty score is calculated as follows: 100 − percentage score.
In Eventing every rider/horse combination has to compete in these three disciplines: Dressage, Cross-Country and Show Jumping.
