Nine pairs made it to the jump-off in the Final of the German U25 Trophy of the Stiftung Deutscher Pferdesport and Holger Hetzel. Seven riders finished clear, but one rider proved unbeatable once again: Britt Roth claimed the victory with a round that was both fast and stylistically superb.

Things are going well for Britt Roth. The 24-year-old rising star also kept a cool head on the second day at the Aachen Soers. Aboard Jeffrey, she was once again unbeatable in the RWE-Prize, the Final of the German U25 Trophy of the Stiftung Deutscher Pferdesport and Holger Hetzel. In the initial round, the pair delivered a performance that looked effortless and was of the highest stylistic quality. These two attributes still stood out even when the pace quickened significantly during the subsequent jump-off. Particularly after the double combination, Britt Roth and her nine-year-old Holsteiner gelding, who were the last to go, accelerated the pace. The clock stopped at 40.77 seconds – over 1.5 seconds faster than the previous leader, Hannes Ahlmann, riding Madness.

“I am speechless,” the winner said, still somewhat overwhelmed. “It was a fantastic jump-off; it was great fun and everything went according to plan,” she said, finally finding words to describe her remarkable achievement. This victory marks the latest title in her collection this year, following her success as German Championship runner-up in Balve and German U25 Champion in Riesenbeck. “It is the perfect conclusion to my final year in the U25 age group!”

Of course, many of the pairs risked all in the jump-off and the strategy paid off in most cases: Seven of the nine participants jumped clear, showcasing the impressive talent of Germany’s generation of aspiring young show-jumpers. The pair that came third yesterday finished second today: Hannes Ahlmann and Madness were delighted to cross the finish line clear in 42.38 seconds. Although Magnus Schmidt brushed the final rail slightly, luck was on his side and it didn’t fall, securing him the third spot on the podium with his partner Carl Gustav (42.96).
