In response to the forecast heat conditions and following veterinary and meteorological advice, the schedule for Friday’s FEI Dressage World Championship – Grand Prix Special Individual Final – MEGGLE-Prize has been adjusted. The competition will now start at 08:30, with a break from 12:30 to 15:00, before resuming at 15:00. The revised schedule reduces competition during the hottest part of the day.

Enhanced heat mitigation measures are in place across the venue, including dedicated cool-down areas for horses, ice supplies and misting fans, alongside continuous veterinary oversight.

Weather conditions and the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) Index will continue to be closely monitored throughout the Championships. The WBGT takes into account factors including temperature, solar radiation, humidity and wind speed, providing a very comprehensive assessment of heat conditions for horses and people.

Further to veterinary advice, Day 2 of the FEI Eventing World Championship – Dressage Team & Individual – DHL-Prize will run as originally scheduled. Further adjustments can be made if conditions require and we will make announcements accordingly.

The schedule for the second day of the FEI Eventing World Championship – Dressage Team & Individual – DHL-Prize on Friday 14 August will remain unchanged, following veterinary advice. Eventing horses are generally fitter and leaner, while Dressage horses have a more muscular build. In addition, the Eventing Dressage test is significantly shorter and less demanding than the Dressage Grand Prix Special, which is longer and places greater physical demands on the horses.
