Britt Roth and Jeffrey write the next chapter of their dream season
In the German U25 Trophy of the Stiftung Deutscher Pferdesport and Holger Hetzel, Prize of Holger Hetzel, a pair that has frequently led the victory laps in recent months topped the rankings once again: Britt Roth and Jeffrey finished ahead of Leila Bingold with Christof and Hannes Ahlmann with Madness.
The saying “the last shall be first” rarely applies more aptly than for the first competition for young riders, which is being held during the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026. The last to go, Britt Roth, left no doubt that her goal was victory in the German U25 Trophy of the Stiftung Deutscher Pferdesport and Holger Hetzel, Prize of Holger Hetzel. She entered the course on her Holstein-bred gelding, Jeffrey, at full gallop and delivered a spectacular round in the legendary Main Stadium. Flying over the obstacles at lightning speed, while maintaining a steady rhythm, the pair jumped clear in the fantastic time of 57.78 seconds. Britt Roth affectionately patted her horse’s neck and beamed with joy during the subsequent prize-giving ceremony.
“Incredible!”, she said, hardly able to believe her luck. “It’s our first time in the Aachen Main Stadium – that in itself was an indescribable feeling. To actually win here as well is just amazing,” said the 24-year-old, who has already claimed the titles of German Vice-Champion in Balve and German U25 Champion in Riesenbeck this year.
Second place went to Leila Bingold and Christof with a time of 58.92 seconds. They, too, put in a strong performance. Hannes Ahlmann took third place aboard Madness in 60.38 seconds. All three riders head into tomorrow midday’s RWE-Prize – the final of the German U25 Trophy of the Stiftung Deutscher Pferdesport and Holger Hetzel – with excellent prospects.
