From 11th to 23rd August 2026, Aachen will once again become the centre of the equestrian world: the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 will be staged in the historic imperial city. The perfect stage on which to make history – sporting history.

Six World and nine European Championships have already been held in Allianz Park, the traditional showgrounds in Aachen Soers. It is here that riders and their horses have become legends. Unforgotten: the World Equestrian Games 2006. To this day, they are regarded as one of the greatest championships in the history of equestrian sport – a major event that that has left a lasting impression and inspired millions of people around the world to fall in love with equestrian sport.

In two months’ time, we can finally say “welcome home” once again! From 11th to 23rd August, when everything at the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 revolves around gold, silver and bronze, a dream will come true for many athletes. Anticipation is growing by the day – including for one of the world’s currently most successful show jumpers, Richard Vogel.

“Competing for your country in a Nations Cup is already a great honour. A championship is another step up again. But a World Championship in your own country – and then in Aachen on top of that – would be an experience you never forget for the rest of your life,” says the reigning European Champion, who dreams of taking part in the World Championships 2026 just as much as many of his fellow athletes in the disciplines of Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Driving, Vaulting and Para Dressage.

From day one, spectators can look forward to gripping competitions and great emotions at the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026. This extraordinary event will open on 11th August not only with a spectacular Opening Ceremony, but also with Part 1 of the Grand Prix, the Lambertz-Prize in Dressage, already on the programme.

“The dressage competitions in the Main Stadium will be an absolute highlight,” says Birgit Rosenberg, board member of the organising Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV). In this unique arena, which is otherwise reserved for the world’s top show jumpers, the elite of dressage sport will ride for medals in both the team and individual classifications.

The vaulters and Para Dressage athletes can also look forward to a very special atmosphere: their medal decisions will be contested in front of a large crowd in Stadium 3, which will be specially roofed for the championships – the very arena where the dressage elite usually compete during CHIO Aachen. “It is particularly important to us to integrate the para athletes at the very heart of the event,” Rosenberg explains. As a result, Para Dressage will enjoy a level of visibility otherwise only seen at the Paralympic Games, most recently in Paris in 2024.

For Regine Mispelkamp, who won two silver medals and one bronze at the Paralympic Games two years ago, Aachen is a place to dream of: “I am very happy that our discipline is gaining public attention on such a big stage in Aachen. There are no better conditions than here – Aachen offers a picturesque setting for Para Dressage,” she enthuses.

For spectators, there is an added attraction: anyone wishing to experience Para Dressage up close can do so with a day ticket for the Main Stadium, Stadium 2, or with a Village Ticket, and become part of this very special atmosphere. The Village Ticket grants access to the showgrounds with their shopping, gastronomy and activity areas – right in the middle of the World Championships flair.

Over 13 days, the sporting world can look forward to a programme full of world-class performances. In the first week, Dressage, Eventing and Vaulting will be on the schedule, followed by Para Dressage, Four-in-Hand Driving and Jumping in the second week. Each discipline will write its own stories – and together they will make the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 a truly unique experience.
